The feeling when your brother in the room next door is playing Borderlands: The Pre-sequel with a former roommate, while you don't own the game, because you're saving the money to buy your own car.

WHY DOES THAT WORK?

What you're doing is much better. The Borderlands games get kinda boring and repetitive - all it is is gathering weapons to see if their numbers are bigger than the numbers on the ones you already have so that way you can take the enemies' numbers to zero more efficiently and gather more weapons with slightly larger numbers.
Honestly, if you've played either Borderlands 1 or 2 you've got the experience down pat.

I know I wont be able to own my own car for at least another 3 years, so I've more or less given up at this point.

I actually enjoy the BL games, and I am more in it for the silly storyline.

to go to any job I get, I need to drive, the bus is extremely confusing and unreliable. mom doesn't want me in a car, unless it's a smart car. ugh. since my brother has the Jetta as his daily, I can't just take it.

I'm so sorry your mom thinks a smart car is a good idea. I hope that's the only retarded tendency she has.
